The Golden Dragon Restaurant in Sault Ste Marie, ON has been serving locals for many years. During the past 5 or 10 years they have focused on a chinese buffet for lunch and dinner. You can also order from the menu, but most people are there for the buffet. You can see their online menu here.

This is the only chinese buffet in town, and they do a pretty good job. The food is usually hot and fresh, and there is an average selection. Again, my main complaint is that all of the chinese food in Northern Ontario is pretty bland. It would also be great if they cleaned the place up a bit - I've heard this comment from a number of people in Sault Ste Marie.

The Hard Wok Cafe in Sault Ste Marie, ON has been stirring up good chinese food for a number of years. Prior to their move to the Hard Wok location this was a full dine in restaurant that served the city for decades.

Now the "Hard Wok" as everyone calls them is take-out only, and is located in a small building in the west end of town. The catchy name is backed up by good service and hot, fast chinese food to go.

Maybe not the most intricate asian flavors I've ever tasted, but definitely some of the best chinese food you will get in Northern Ontario. Their menu has a lot of choices, and they are open most holidays.

Rumor has it that there's a new Starbucks restaurant coming to Sault Ste Marie Ontario.

I guess Starbucks isn't really a full service restaurant, but supposedly a full Starbucks coffee shop will be opening near the new Pino's grocery store in the east end of Sault Ste Marie.

The only other Starbucks is an "express" version located in the Water Tower Inn in the north end of town.  Located in the same area as the new Casey's restaurant in Sault Ste Marie, it's been a great place to pick up a top quality latte or good brew of Sumatra or French Roast for the last several years.
