Wacky Wings - We Won't Be Back!
We had one of the worst dining experiences ever the other night at Wacky Wings in Sault Ste Marie Ontario.
The wings were obviously reheated, and were luke warm at best. When we mentioned it to the waitress she gladly took them away. But, to our surprise she returns with the same two baskets of wings after microwaving the damn things! Did anyone ever hear about replacing the wings with fresh cooked ones - like they should have been in the first place?!
Then, our "pints" of draft beer arrive in little 12 oz. glasses. For those of you not old enough to remember, a "pint" is the standard measure of a glass of draft beer. And a "pint" is 16 oz. for anyone who just learned the metric system in school. Now here's the interesting thing - the menu at Wacky Wings Eatery and Restaurant in Sault Ste Marie advertises that the draft beer is sold as 16 oz. of beer. I can tell just by looking at the glass that it's not a pint of beer. So, after mentioning this to the waitress she gladly tells the bartender (Iike he's going to know any better than her - there wasn't an employee in the place over 25). She returns and assures us that the beer is served in 16 oz. glasses.
Well, this is complete BS so after I finish the 12 oz. of draft I order a bottle of Canadian (12 oz.) and pour it into the empty draft glass. Well, what d'ya know pardner - it fills the glass! So now being completely pissed I call her over and demonstrate that the glass is 12 oz. and she gets snippety and says "well I don't know what you want me to do about it?" Well, how about a beer on the house honey!
Now hang on - we're just getting to the good part. The bartender comes to our table with a 4 oz. dribble of beer in another glass. Can you believe it? What a jerk!
This place is a rip off - needless to say we won't ever be back!

I am surprised about the negative feedback about Wacky Wings! I go their twice a week and always get excellent service and the best wings in town. The sweet & spicy thai wings are to die for, also the New Orleans dry are great. The place is always packed and it's the best place in town to watch the hockey games. Apparently they have sold almost a million wings in 1 year!!! I will definately be back.
Good post.
iv worked in serveral restaurants in my live and wacky wings has by far the worst standards iv seen, the kitchen is barely cleaned and the wings are all pre cooked and covered in store bought sauces. after working there i would never eat there again.
By far the worst restaurant ever! and if your goin twice a week you obviously have no taste..and maybe a achlolic…..its over priced. and the beer store is correct i noticed this also….
My boyfriend and I always go there and were from sault Michigan and we absolutely love the place. We have buffalo wild wings in petoskey and I was so disappointed compared to wacky wings. I tell all my friends about it and they love it as well. Yes they could lower prices a bit but oh well. They do offer me 75+ wings. And there waitstaff is so friendly. We've never had a bad experience and today we are going over there again.
I love this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different. It's a fun atmosphere, the service has always been good when I've been there and the wings are always delicious. So what if their sauces are "store bought"? They're still really good and the way they combine the flavours is creative. It is a tad pricey, but judging by the numbers in there not too many people are boycotting it. When you have an original business idea, you can afford to hike the prices a bit. If it's good I don't mind paying.
The new wacky wings on great northern is nice but the music is played way to loud and im 23 and couldn't stand it I was getting a headache plus there wasn't enough sauce on the wings and the prices have really gone up I left with a headache and feeling sick
